Many people can say they like movies, I mean, it is a billion dollar industry. My passion for movies was brewed at a young age. While most seven year olds are watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which I also did watch, I was watching movies of all genres and throughly enjoyed the movies we call classics today. Like many people from my generation, millennials or Gen. Ys, owning a pile of random VHS and DVD movies was a common theme in households. Back then, we didn’t have the luxury of streaming movies and shows on demand, you had to physically go out and get the VHS or DVD. Buying movies can get pretty expensive and as a young kid I didn’t have much authority to go out and buy movies, so I would end up watching the same movies over and over again. I remember owning “The Perfect Storm” and “Troy” both directed by Wolfgang Petersen, and I had watched those movies so many times that I could rehearse the scripts about word for word. Needless to say I turned into a big Mark Wahlberg, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Orlando Bloom fan.

Eventually I convinced my parents to sign up for a Blockbuster membership, which I completely abused. Me and my father walked in that store about everyday, and as out of date Blockbusters are I almost miss them. As happy as I am with how easy it is to stream, buy, and rent movies online nowadays I would love to feel the nostalgia of walking into a Blockbuster and picking out some movies. I would say I am much less bias than most when it comes to watching movies in regards to genres, unlike most, I enjoy all movies. Movies are clearly not real and they are completely exaggerated sometimes, but the feelings and emotions you receive from watching a movie can be very powerful. With the right movie you can influence the world and it has been seen throughout cinema history.

This blog will be a reflection of my opinions and passions for movies. I watch a lot of movies. I wish there was a way I could watch every movie in the world. My blog posts will be a mixture of my opinions of the cinema world along with me trying to keep up with reviews of new movies. My dream is to even own a movie theater, I don’t know much about the industry so I believe a nice home theater will do fine for awhile. I will continue to watch as many movies as possible and hopefully impact other advantageous movie watchers and cinema lovers alike.
